THE STAFF

 

 

 

COACHES

 

JD Cochran is a Professional Trainer for the Challenge Soccer Club in Houston, TX.  He has a USSF "A" License .  JD won the USYSA National Championship in 2010 with the 91 Lonestar Girls. He has placed over 100 Girls into Collegiate Programs (one just won the NCAA National Championship this year!). On the boys side there are 10 players JD coached that are currently playing in the MLS and 3 players that have represented the Full US National Team.

He was involved in the Olympic Development (ODP) State Staff and Development State Staff from 1994-2006. During that time he Head Coached the 85,86,87 and 88 Boys State Teams and was Assistant Head State Coach for the '79, '82 and '83 Boys State Teams.  He has coached professionally for the Lonestar Soccer Club (building that organization to Soccer America's 2010 Top Soccer Clubs Ranking of #15 on the Girls side), Classics Soccer Club, Brazos Magic SC and  Sting Soccer Club leading his clubs to a National Title, Regional Title and numerous State Championships.  He also holds a BS degree in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University.

 

WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE SIGNING OF SOPHIA MUNDY FROM THE Women's Professional Soccer League (WPS)!!!!

Sophia comes to Texas Soccer Academy this summer after playing in 2010 with the Atlanta Beat and in 2009 with the Boston Breakers!

Before playing in the WPS she played two season in Iceland in the Premiership Afturelding and Valur FC

Collegiately Sophia played for Portland State University for two years before finishing her collegiate career at the University of Houston. Sophia received individual recognition as a two-time All-Conference player, an NSCAA/Adidas All-Central Region Third Team honoree and in 2006 was named the Conference USA Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. She was also a member of the U-21 Women's National Team Player Pool

 

Jacob Santos - from Honduras where he played professionally for Independiente.  He now is a professional trainer for the Texas Heat Soccer Club in Houston Texas.  He has trained with the Texans Soccer Club, Texas United and Classics from Houston.

 

 

Alfredo Martinez - From Mexico where he played professionally for Tigres.  He trains professionally for the Nationally Ranked Texans Soccer Club.

 

Garrick Gordon from Jamaica playing professionally in El Salvador, played at San Jacinto College in Houston, Texas.

 

Dragutin Ivkovic from Yugoslavia where he played for the Yugoslavia's U19 team, Seleccion Olympia and Seleccion A, check his website CVIvkovic.htm

 

Adam Basic from Canada, Coached at Oklahoma Christian University

Alex Latorre from Brazil played professional in the USA, Coached at Oklahoma Christian and coaches now professionally at Padova in Oklahoma

Shawn Lamar played professionally in the Faroe Islands, the USA in the USISL for the Cocoa Expos and the Tampa Nighthawks and collegiately at Coker College.  He also worked the Velocity Sports Performance Center in Atlanta Georgia as a Speed Coach

          GOALKEEPING STAFF

Randy Noll Head Goalkeeper Instructor, Played At Southern Methodist University, Directed Dallas Texans Houston Goalkeeping Program, Head Coach John Cooper High School, USSF Licensed

Zach Riffett - Is our Asst Head Goalkeeper instructor.  He has represented South Texas on the ODP State Team (1996-2001), ODP Region III Pool/Team (1998-2000), National Pool (1999, 2000, 2001), National Team (1999, 2000), NSCAA all America Team (2000, 2001) and ESP Adidas Program (2000, 2001).  He set National High School Soccer Federation Records with most shutouts in a season 22 in 2001 - 2002 and 23 in 2003 and he set the all time career shutout record with 61 shutouts (2001-2003).  He played collegiately and graduated from Boston College.

 

Robert Lopez

Coach Lopez played all sports as a youth, club and high school athlete, and began his coaching and personal training career in California in 1985. His Austin coaching career has involved stints with CCU Eagles, CCU Academy, T&C RecPlus, Westlake Academy and the Texas Soccer Academy. He is also the current director of the Steiner Ranch/Riverplace Girls Academy.  Coach Lopez is also the owner/instructor of Integrity in Motion Fitness and a licensed personal trainer.

Coach Lopez studied physical therapy and holds a variety of coaching diplomas and licenses including a USSF National "D" License, a NSCAA National Diploma, Advanced Regional, National Youth and Goalkeeper I and II.
